My Green Thumb

Finally planted some begonias around the flower beds today.  I am so late getting this finished this year.  The weather has been so rainy and gloomy this Spring, I was behind schedule.  Then I was super busy with the end of the year usual events that it was put on the back burner over and over.  Today was very mild and pleasant outside, so I decided to try to get everything done.  I did pull weeds and move a few plants around and added some annuals for a splash of color.  I still need to trim the topiary and spiral trees and then lay down mulch.  I think at that point I will be finished.

The veggie garden is planted and I have some container pot tomatoes this year.  I need to get some tomato cages to keep Navy out of the pots.  He likes to bite off the tops of my flowers, so I don't think he will leave the tomato plants alone, either.  My beautiful red flower I got from Caleb for Mother's Day was ready to transplant to the garden.  I placed it in the perfect spot by the trellis.  It was there a few hours and along comes Navy and bites the whole gorgeous top off my flower.  I was a little mad.  Caleb was so excited to give it to me and then really thrilled that I planted it in the garden.  So, I went out and found some wire fencing and now there is ugly green fencing all around my flower and veggie gardens.  Terrific.  Oh well...what can you do?
