Daniel and the Sippy-cup

Daniel's new favorite thing is the sippy cup. He took no time in learning to master it. He looks like such a big boy now with his cup. Seems like yesterday we were coming home with him and now he is almost one. He still has not gotten a haircut, much to Lee's disapproval. I think he looks so cute with his soft wispy hair and I don't want to cut it yet. Daniel loves music and bounces to the beat every chance he gets. He delights in playing with everyone and watching the big boys be goofy. He is teething right now and drooling all over the place. His top teeth are coming in now, but not the two in front. He is getting the next tooth over in first. It looks kind of funny. He has only taken a few steps on his own. He is standing for periods of time and balancing a bit. He is good at cruising along the couch to get around. Soon he will be chasing the big brothers all over.

Pretty Flowers

My adorable son, Caleb, went to the grocery store with Dad the other day and suggested to Dad that they get Mom some flowers. Caleb picked these out because the were bright and colorful and he thought I would like them the best. He is a sweetie.

Dog-sitting Kayla

Since my neighbors are at the hospital having their baby, we are watching Kayla, their dog. She is a cute little thing! The boys really like petting her and having her around. I told them not to get any ideas. She is very playful and a real sweetie.

Welcome Roman!

Happy Birthday Drew!

Drew visited with us for his birthday. He is 16 years old already! We had supper with Grandma and Grandpa Daney. I made baked chicken, cheesy potatoes, sauteed spinach, salad, and Italian loaf bread. For dessert we had cherry cheesecake made by Grandma. It was good! Drew went shopping for his presents and he got some nice dress clothes.

Mall Adventure

Smiley Dan
Caleb - future NASCAR racer. Joah kept saying it was Lightning McQueen.
Boys at the play land. It was kind of busy.
Daniel wondering, "WTH is that thing?"
Only one steering wheel...someone obviously not happy
Thank God this ride had two steering wheels...WWIII averted
Cookie buzz
Joah being typical and not smiling because I want him to
Daniel, Joah, Caleb and I went to the mall the other day just to get out of the house and do something. I am getting stir crazy couped up inside and it was a place were the kids could run around and still stay warm inside.

The boys got cookies and milk for their snack. Daniel was a cookie monster! Then they rode on a few of the rides until the quarters ran out. After that we went to the play land and hung out there for a while. By the time it was nap time we had enough fun and headed home.

Happy Ten Months Old, Daniel!

Daniel is ten months old today. It doesn't seem like it has been this long already. He has two teeth on the bottom and is into EVERYTHING! He likes to empty the cupboards of anything he can get his hands on. I have to keep the bathroom door shut because toilet paper is his favorite toy right now.
He pulls himself up on the furniture and takes a few steps along it now. He really seems to like just about anything we give him to eat. I particularly likes Cheerios and crackers. If only he would sleep through the night so mom could finally get a break. Wishful thinking!

Basement Carpet Is In

We love the carpet in the basement! Lowes came out and installed the carpet on Thursday. We had a scare because the carpet installer guy said we did not order enough carpet. Turns out the measure person did not measure it right, so it was not our fault. The carpet installer guy went back to Lowes to see if he could get more and they unrolled what they had and it was JUST enough!

It really makes a huge difference. The boys have spent the whole day downstairs playing and running around today. Lee hung the panel door on the sump pump closet today and he has to finish putting up the baseboard. He is also going to paint the moulding and doors white.

We are now saving to buy a drop ceiling to really make it look "finished". I have been sorting through books and toys and putting some of them back out in for the kids to use. All of the stuff went to the storage side of the basement so the carpet could get installed. I am only putting out some of their stuff because it is just too much for them to deal with at one time. I will rotate it every so often and then it will be like all new toys every few months.

We are going to buy another portable heater to set down there since there is only one vent blowing heat into that side of the basement. It really isn't too bad since the TV area is right by the vent and we set up one heater already near there. It is just a pretty big room and another heater on the other side would be extra nice.

I hope the boys enjoy it. Thanks Mom and Dad Daney and Herman for your Christmas and birthday money towards purchasing this carpet! We love it!
