I guess this is a sign I need to fold the pile of laundry that has been sitting all day in the family room.
Cooker Mom is my super hero name given to me by my son. This blog is about our family adventures.

Jo-Jo's Doctor Visit
Today Jo-Jo had his one year well check up. He is a growing boy. He is the 85% percentile in height and weight. He did get four shots today that were a bit ouchy. But, he did very well. Afterward we went to the mall and got him a cookie. Sam and Caleb also got cookies and they all played at the PlayLand together. It was nice to cruise around the mall in the air conditioning. We had a delicious lunch at SubWay. It was going well until Caleb dropped his sandwich on the floor and spilled his chocolate milk all over the place. Then he proceeded to try to "clean it up" by sucking the milk up off the chair with his straw. Yeah, gross.

Our Backyard
We finally have a lawn to play in. The grass still needs to fill in a lot of spots, but it is not bad. Here are pics of my garden, some shrubs and flowers we planted. Hopefully we will get some nice veggies this summer to enjoy. I planted tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, basil and oregano. I can't wait to make some tomato sauce and eggplant parmigiana.

Flock of Geese
Driving home from the store the other day with my sons, Caleb and Sam, we saw a flock of geese crossing 795. We had to stop for them to cross the road and thankfully they all crossed safely. It was a neat sight to see, the family of geese. There were many fuzzy young geese in the middle of the pack being lead by their attentive moms and dads. Following up the back of the pack were a few adult geese hurrying the baby geese along as quickly as possible.
I pointed out the geese to the boys and they were so interested and excited to watch them. I said, "Look, boys, it is a flock of geese." Sam, of course, eagerly asked, "What is a flock, Mom?" I said, "It is a gaggle, or a group of birds walking on the ground." He responded, "Ah, yes, a gaggle is a flock." I thought to myself, Sam will remember that one, it is in the "vault" as Lee and I say about him.
Then there were Caleb's remarks. In his quirkiest laugh, he giggled with delight and said the word flock over and over. He thought the word flock was so funny. I wondered just why it was so amusing and asked him. He replied, "Mom, it's an AFFFLLLOOOCK, just like that commercial." Caleb remembered the AFLACK commercials where the duck is involved in some crazy scheme and runs around squawking, "AAFFLAACK!" It think it is Caleb's favorite commercial. I thought that was pretty funny!

New Toothbrush
How do you know when it is time to change your toothbrush? I think it is when you find your one year old son playing with your toothbrush. And when I say "playing" with the toothbrush, I mean you catch him in the act of scrubbing the inside of the toilet bowl with it. Wonderful.
